Dr. Farzad Hariri is a Royal College-certified General Surgeon with a specialized focus on the surgical treatment of skin cancer. Since joining SimcoDerm Medical and Surgical Dermatology Centre more than seven years ago, he has become one of the highest-volume skin cancer surgeons in Ontario, performing approximately 2,000 skin cancer procedures annually.

Working within SimcoDerm’s multidisciplinary skin cancer program, Dr. Hariri provides surgical care for patients with a wide range of cutaneous malignancies, including melanoma, basal cell carcinoma, squamous cell carcinoma, basosquamous carcinoma, Merkel cell carcinoma, and other complex or high-risk skin cancers. His extensive experience includes both primary excisions and complex re-excisions, as well as reconstructive procedures following cancer removal.

Dr. Hariri is particularly recognized for his expertise in the management of challenging skin cancers involving cosmetically and functionally sensitive areas such as the face, scalp, ears, nose, lips, eyelids, neck, hands, and lower extremities. His surgical approach prioritizes complete cancer removal while preserving function and achieving the best possible cosmetic outcome.

After graduating from Shahid Beheshti University in Tehran, Dr. Hariri practiced medicine before immigrating to Canada. He subsequently completed his General Surgery residency at the University of Toronto and obtained Fellowship certification from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada. Throughout his surgical career, he has developed extensive expertise in oncologic surgery and complex tissue reconstruction.

At SimcoDerm, Dr. Hariri works closely with board-certified dermatologists, dermatopathologists, plastic surgeons, family physicians, and cancer specialists to ensure patients receive comprehensive and evidence-based skin cancer care. His practice encompasses the full spectrum of skin cancer management, from diagnosis and surgical treatment to long-term surveillance and recurrence monitoring.

Dr. Hariri has developed a particular interest in melanoma surgery and the management of advanced and recurrent skin cancers. He routinely treats patients referred from family physicians, dermatologists, and specialists throughout Ontario for definitive surgical management of complex skin malignancies.

Having performed many thousands of skin cancer surgeries throughout his career, Dr. Hariri is widely respected for his meticulous surgical technique, patient-centered approach, and commitment to achieving the highest standards of oncologic and reconstructive care.
