Dr. Maryam Shayesteh Alam Co-Authors New Vitiligo Research Publication
Efficacy and safety of ruxolitinib cream combined with narrow-band UVB phototherapy for treatment of vitiligo.
We are proud to announce that Dr. Maryam Shayesteh Alam has co-authored a new study published in the Journal of Investigative Dermatology.
This publication explores the efficacy and safety of combining ruxolitinib cream with narrow-band UVB phototherapy for the treatment of vitiligo.
The study evaluated whether adding NB-UVB phototherapy to ruxolitinib cream could support repigmentation in patients with nonsegmental vitiligo who had limited early response to topical treatment alone.
- Patients with limited early response showed meaningful improvement after adding NB-UVB therapy.
- Combination therapy improved body and facial repigmentation outcomes through week 48.
- The combination was well tolerated, with no new safety concerns identified.
At SimcoDerm Medical & Research Institute, we are committed to advancing dermatology through clinical research and contributing to innovations that improve patient care worldwide.
